—–If you are viewing my entry where the weather is warm and you can simply wear a sleeveless and short outside, consider yourself very lucky because you don’t need to wear too much clothing just to go outside, or even just simply checking your mailbox because the weather in my part of the world is getting colder everyday, and when we woke up today, here’s what our backyard look like.

Well, darn it, it’s cold in New Jersey but no snow. Yuck. I miss New England. Dress warmly, Canada is colder!
Enjoyed the view of your backyard.

It’s snowy here too. In fact it’s snowing outside at this very moment. I love to sit indoors with a warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate and watch the flakes tumble to the ground. I prefer bundling up in the cold to peeling off in the heat.

Believe me or not, but we here in The Netherlands are looking forward to a bit of snow, for it’s rainy and grey weather.

Having lived in the snow belt for most of my life this is a familar sight. Gee I miss it sometimes and that quiet stillness of the world muffled under a blanket of snow.

For some of us living in a hot dry climate, snow for Christmas and indeed throughout the winter, would be heaven. The garden could be left to it’s own devices and the gentle pursuits of home enjoyed, and when outside the temperatures are invigorating rather than enervating. Enjoy what you have, the alternative with temperatures over 100 degrees and fear of wildfires is not recommended.
